Howard Stern, Nickelback, and Johnny Lawrence

Howard, Nickelback, and Johnny are at the top of my list of guilty pleasures!

In the late 90s, I stumbled on to Howard Stern. Back then, he was raunchy, outspoken, and controversial. I'm not offended by much, but, yes, I've had to turn him off a time or two. I admire that he speaks his mind, he's a phenomenal interviewer, and doesn't always do what's "expected". I love it; a true disrupter. Admittedly, there are artists I've started to follow since their interview with Howard. Lady Gaga, I'm looking at you!

To me, Nickelback, is one of the most unappreciated bands of our time. The music is exciting and their ballads are among my top all-time favorite songs. I'm not sure why they are made fun of. While I can't find current statistics, in 2017 they were declared the 11th best-selling band of all time, according to Digital Music News. So, I think I'm not alone in this guilty pleasure!

Karate Kid came out when I was 11. It's one of those movies that I always stop to watch when I see it pop up in the TV guide when channel surfing. The crane kick was NOT illegal and Johnny and Sensei Kreese got exactly what they deserved...until 2018. While I believe most remakes and spin-offs are not worthy of the original, I prayed for Cobra Kai to be released on Netflix or Hulu so I could check it out. The announcement in 2020 was the highlight of 2020! I devoured the first two seasons as soon as they were released on Netflix. Just think, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are now in their mid to late 50s! They are both..well, let's just say hubba, hubba! The flashbacks are amazing, the writing is outstanding and the entire cast is magnificent. With Cobra Kai I've actually defected from Miyagi-Do to Cobra Kai. Johnny is a lovable, down on his luck dude in the 2020s.
